How do you go about writing songs? Lyrics first or Music 1st?
I’m new to song writing…I have been playing guitar for almost 2 years. I could use any info you have that helps you be a better song writer. I like the more modern/upbeat country music….but any info is good. Thanks.

Either way. Sometimes the music comes to you first and speaks the words that bind it together. Sometimes the words implore you to write them, and the music follows in its wake. Inspiration can’t be defined and ordered. Get alone with some paper, pens, and an instrument. Put out distractions and meditate, and the music will come.
